VIECON Managing Director Martina Candillo is sending a clear signal for equality and diversity in management. Since early 2025, she has been part of the three-member executive board and aims to actively empower women – particularly in the events and congress sector, where female talent is often present but not always visible.

"I want to give women more space and actively support their professional development," says Candillo. She speaks not only from conviction but also from personal experience as a working mother. Gender equality, regardless of family situation, is a central success factor for her: "It’s not about preferential treatment, but about fair conditions for everyone."

Many areas of the events and congress sector – such as marketing, project management, and sales – are already female-dominated. Reflecting this also at the leadership level is no coincidence at VIECON; it is practiced every day. "We focus on competence and performance – regardless of gender," Candillo emphasizes.

In technical fields, men still dominate, but the barriers are gradually breaking down. Increasingly, women are taking on strategic and operational leadership roles. VIECON actively promotes this development with a corporate culture based on openness, support, and empowerment.
