VIECON – Vienna Congress & Convention Center is a license holder of the Austrian Ecolabel (UZ 62) for Green Meetings & Green Events.
This certification allows you to host your event in an environmentally, economically, and socially responsible way – supported by government-approved standards and guided by our professional sustainability team.

• Climate Action & Mobility: Support for environmentally friendly arrival and departure, sustainable mobility for side events, bicycle parking
• Venue: Central location, excellent accessibility, high environmental standards
• Accommodation: Easy access to nearby hotels, including options certified with the Austrian Eco‑Label
• Procurement & Waste Management: Waste‑management concept, reusable containers, eco‑friendly printing materials, paperless event options, recyclable décor, no give‑aways
• Catering: Regional, seasonal, and organic selections
  Exhibitors & Booth Builders: Contractual agreement to comply with all required environmental measures
• Energy & Water: Electricity sourced from renewable energy, energy‑efficient event technology, environmentally responsible cleaning processes
• Social Responsibility: Consideration of gender and diversity aspects, accessibility, inclusive planning for all stakeholders
• Communication: Clear information for attendees, suppliers, and staff regarding sustainability measures

1. Assess suitability – Together, we determine whether your event meets the required criteria.
2. Engage the license holder – As an existing license holder, we manage the full certification process for you.
3. Begin communication – Even during the planning phase, you may promote your event with the statement: “The event is being planned in accordance with the criteria of the Austrian Eco‑Label.”
4. Implement criteria & provide documentation – We support you in meeting all mandatory and recommended criteria.
5. Official certification – Once all criteria are fulfilled, your event may be promoted as “Compliant with the criteria of the Austrian Eco‑Label for Green Meetings and Green Events.”
