From April 11 to 15, 2025, VIECON Center in Vienna became a global meeting point for experts in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. The ESCMID Global Congress 2025 impressed with a first-class scientific program, an international top-tier audience, and a world-class event setup.

With four halls in use, the ESCMID Global Congress 2025 was twice the size of its last edition in Vienna in 2017 – and simultaneously the largest congress of the year at VIECON. The entire convention center was fully activated – not a single square meter went unused.

New room structures were created, halls completely transformed, and everything connected through an intelligent wayfinding system. The result: a seamless, inspiring event experience at the highest level.

Creative Highlights with a Wink

In addition to top-tier keynotes, symposia, and workshops, the congress offered creative moments that charmingly complemented the scientific experience. Even the life-size dinosaur in the mall – with a personalized badge reading Dr. T. Rex – Scholar, Fossilton, Jurassica – delighted attendees.

The stylish photo booth, featuring an opera backdrop and traditional Viennese instruments, was also a crowd-puller, allowing visitors to take a piece of Vienna home with them.
